 BREEDING OBJECTIVES

 

 

 

Old Munbilla seeks to breed animals true to the Dorper Breed Standard of Excellence - to achieve functional efficiency and maximum meat production

with minimum management input.

 

Sire selection is guided by strict adherence to conformation and type,

as well as outstanding production traits as reflected in Lambplan.

 Particular emphasis is placed on growth rate and muscling,

always mindful of retaining the low birth weight Dorpers are known for.

Old Munbilla seeks to breed animals true to the South African Dorper Breed standard to achieve maximum meat production with minimum input.

 

Sire selection is guided by strict adherence to conformation and type as well as outstanding production traits as reflected in Lambplan. Particular emphasis is placed on growth rate and muscle characterisitics, always mindful of retaining the low birth weight Dorpers are known for.

 

We seek to have South African Inspectors regularly inspect our flock to provide skilled, independent and objective input to selection and to guide future direction.
