  SIRES

For our breeding program we have deliberately sought sires with proven records as stud sires, selecting South African Registered Type 5 and Type 4 rams. As the economics of any meat production system depends on growth rate, fertility and conformation we have also used Lambplan  in our ram selection. (see Useful Links)

  • Amarula 'Douggie' 02-0284 - Type 4 - after a very successful stud career at Springvale Dorper Stud, including producing the Reserve Champion Ram at the 2005 National Dorper Show, 'Douggie' provided a solid base of well balanced ewes for our Old Munbilla Stud.

  • Kaya 04-7949 - 'Bullo' (right) - Type 5 - the leading sire used at Kaya Stud in WA in 2006. On Lambplan he currently has the highest Dorper$ Index and Carcase Plus Index for a Dorper sire with more than 50 progeny. He has produced stylish feminine ewes and well muscled high growth rate rams.
