Rosie was one of our foundation bitches here at Tobenlee Kennels.
Rosie is still the current breed record holder for the greatest number of Melbourne Royal breed challenges with a total of five.
The last of these she won at the ripe old age of nine and a half. Rosie went on to convert three of these to Best of Breeds.
Rosie was only ever beaten six times for Bitch Challenge in her show career, and retired from the ring with over 600 challenge points. No mean feat as until recently no Brittany in Australia had ever won a 25 point Best In Group challenge.
Rosie was also an extremely successful brood bitch, being the dam of our second Dual Champion. Dual Ch Tobenlee Misty O Dee," Dee Dee", Aust Ch Tobenlee Rebel Rouser ,"Britt", Who are featured on this web site.
To add to Rosie's impressive production record we proudly mention her six Aust Show champions all sired by Aust Ch Chico of Aztlan (IMP USA) , plus numerous extremely talented working gundogs.

She was the reason we fell madly in love with the Brittany breed, her wonderful, playful temperament and very loyal nature made her my soul mate.

Jeanie had blue blood flowing through her veins with America's famous Hall of Fame dog Dual Ch. Char Lee O Dee appearing in her pedigree three times.

Raz was another great ambassador of the breed and still holds the record for the most Dog Challenges at the Melbourne Royal Show with four, going on to Best of Breed twice. In his show career Raz amassed an impressive 400 Challenge points.
As a stud dog he has produced many excellent show and Working Brittany's. Raz was a true gentleman and a lovable clown who enjoyed his retirement at Tobenlee.
He was a fantastic friend and was my constant companion.

Sandy became the first Dual Champion Brittany in Australasia in 1994 when she successfully completed her show and field trial titles. She accomplished this very prestigious dual title by the age of three and a half. She showed early on that she was going to be a force to be reckoned with, pointing and retrieving rabbits from twelve weeks of age.
When it comes to quail Sandy is known as the Witch of the West - there are very few quail out there that can outsmart her.
Sandy obtained her first challenge at seven months of age and ran in her first novice field trial at eleven months. Since then she has gone from strength to strength being awarded Best Finding Dog at both the Victorian Championship Utility Field Trial and National Utility Field Trial.
Sandy became the first Brittany to take out the breed clubs Top Show Dog of the Year and Top Field Trial Dog of the Year awards in the same year in 1993, and to prove it was no fluke she did it again in 1994.
She has also won a Retrieving Trial Beginners Test and a Novice Stake against a field of 40.

In 1996 Dee Dee became the breeds second Dual Champion with a Show and Field Trial title.
Dee Dee was no slouch in the show ring having won Bitch Challenge and runner up Best of Breed at the 1996 Melbourne Royal show. She also had several class in group awards to her credit Dee Dee won these awards in Queensland ,South Australia and Victoria.
Dee Dee gained her Novice Retrieving Title (NRD) in grand style winning the required two novice stakes in fields of 30 plus dogs.

Jac was bred here at Tobenlee and was owned by Karen & Ian Ward in Queensland.
Jac proudly flew the Tobenlee flag in Queensland with Multiple Class in Group and class in show wins as well as Best In Group and Class In Show award at Open shows. Jac has won 6 Royal Show Challenges ( 3 Brisbane , 3 Toowoomba ) and 6 Royal Best of Breeds ( 3 at each ).
Jac also ventured down South taking out two BOB'S AND TWO INTERNATIONAL CACIB'S at the Spring Fair .Jac didn't stop at Sydney he continued down a bit further south and was awarded reserve dog challenge at the 1996 and the 1999 Melbourne Royal show where he also took out Runner-Up To Best of Breed.

Britt has now joined his sister Dee Dee and other Brittany mates Jeanie ,Raz, Rebel ,Rosie and Sandy in the wide open paddocks in the sky Hunting and pointing quail , rabbits until their hearts content and probably enjoying one or two really good chases. Good on you guy's "GO GET EM".
Britt was a very much loved and valued Working Gundog and family Companion to George, Carol, Michael and Kimberley Azzapardi.
Britt was a wonderful ambassador for our
breed. He had proven more than once that a great working gundog
can also be a force to be reckoned with in the show ring. Britt was awarded Challenge and Best of
Breed at the 1996 Royal Melbourne Show, and Reserve Challenge and
Runner Up Best of Breed at the 1997 Royal Melbourne Show.
In 1996 Britt won Dog Challenge (13 points ) and Runner Up Best
of Breed at the
Victorian Gundog Champ Show, the followed year (1997) he again won Dog Challenge
and Runner-Up Best of breed at the Victorian Gundog club Champ Show .
At the Brittany Inaugural Championship Show Britt was awarded Res Dog Challenge and Runner Up Best of Breed (Runner Up in Show). We at Tobenlee are extremely proud of the achievements of this great Brittany.

Rebel had more speed, stamina, desire and intensity than he knew what to do with but these excellent qualities helped him to win a novice Utility Field Trial and he would have been a force to be reckoned with but for his sad, untimely death due to an encounter with a Brown Snake. Jess arrived at Tobenlee in 1993 after a very long 9 Month Quarantine period. Lucky for Jess she was able to travel from Hawaii (after spending 5 months there in quarantine) to New Zealand where she spent her last 4 months with the West family on their lovely dairy Farm.
Many thanks must go to the West's for taking such great care of our girl during her stay with them .

Jess was an Excellent producer for us here at Tobenlee.
